TRAX Airport Extension

The TRAX Airport Light Rail Project will extend the current TRAX line from the Arena Station, and connect most major Utah sites and destinations to the Salt Lake City International Airport. This new six-mile LRT will provide a direct transfer from the West Station on top of the newly renovated North Temple Viaduct to the FrontRunner Commuter Train – which will eventually connect all commuters from Ogden to Provo.

MEC’s scope of work inlcudes:

• Installation of six miles of overhead catenary
• 6 traction power substations
• 6 grade crossings with warning gates
• 12 signal houses and communications equipment
• Devices at six passenger stations
